About the event
Join us to explore the edible side of the Forest of Flowers, and take away some important tips on wild plant identification, foraging in general, and how to ferment your own foraged food.
Alwyn Craven, Kew-accredited horticulturalist and Forest of Flowers Founder, will lead a walk through our woodland and meadows, with regular stops to discuss and taste edible wildflowers and trees. You'll be welcome to gather from these species, with foraging enthusiast Myra Barker on hand to offer collection and preparation tips.
After our walk, we'll return to base with our foraged goods and discuss the different ways to use them. We'll focus on fermentation as a key example - a traditional way to preserve food, while bringing out some amazing flavours. Myra will demonstrate a simple fermenting process for you to try at home.
Refreshments and homemade cakes are included and will be served after the event.
