About the event
The Forest of Flowers has a fantastic array of nocturnal wildlife which we hope to showcase during a guided twilight walk. We will have experts on hand to discuss the wide range of species we find. These will include:
Bats - Expert Paul Bamber will lead our walk at dusk as we witness the bats coming out for the night. We will visit parts of the habitat including woodland, wildflower meadows and ponds, all of which offer a feast of insects for bats, providing the perfect opportunity to catch a glimpse of these wonderful creatures. We'll also be using bat detectors to pick up their sonar frequency and identify the species.
6 bat species have been recorded at the Forest of Flowers so far, including Common pipistrelle, Soprano pipistrelle, Noctule, Daubenton's, Whiskered and Brown Long-eared.
Moths - So far we have recorded over 400 moth species on-site, of all shapes and sizes.…
